What is KLM’s policy on baggage allowances?

When you start preparing for the flight journey after making flight bookings with KLM Airlines, the utmost importance is held by the baggage. If you are not well informed about the baggage, then you will definitely encounter issues during the check-in process, and your baggage may be rejected at the time of check-in. To go through the flight journey, you should know how KLM follows the conditions for baggage and how that works. KLM baggage policy: There are various terms and conditions that KLM has added to the baggage policy of the airline. Before you prepare for the journey and pack bags, make sure you go through the baggage policy carefully so you can avoid all the troubles or inconveniences that could take place. The policy has been divided into four parts for your convenience: 

  • Checked Baggage: The checked bag will not remain with you on the flight and be transported by the airline. This bag should have items that will not be required during the journey:  
    • With Premium Comfort class, the weight of your checked bag should not be more than 23 kg with the handles and wheels. 
    • When it comes to the size then, including all the dimensions, the size should be within 158 cm. 
    • With a Light Ticket reservation, you will not be allowed to bring the checked bag. 
    • If you have booked a Standard or Flex ticket in Business class, then you are allowed to bring 2 checked bags to the flight. 
    • The maximum weight of business class bags should not be more than 32 kg with sizes up to 158 cm. 
    • If you are traveling with a lap child, then one bag of 10 kg can be brought to the flight. 
  • Carry-On: This is the hand baggage that will remain with you on the flight, so it should include all the material that will be needed during the flight journey. The terms and conditions for the carry-on luggage are listed below: 
    • With Economy class bookings, the weight of the handbag should be up to 12 kg. 
    • The size of this bag needs to be under 55 × 35 × 25 cm dimensions with its handles and wheels. 
    • If you do not follow the size limitations, the bag will not be fitted in the overhead cabin on the flight.
    • You should know that the cabin staff will not be able to help you with the bags. 
  • Personal Items: The carry-on luggage you will be allowed to bring should be followed with a personal item. The restrictions for this personal item are listed below: 
    • Small items such as handbag, purses, small musical instruments like guitar or violin, books, cameras, laptops, binoculars, backpacks, etc, can be brought to the flight. 
    • These items should be easy to carry so you do not face any inconvenience during the journey. 
  • Prohibited Items: The list of certain items that you cannot bring to the flight are listed below:
    • Any harmful liquids or gases will not be allowed to be brought to the flight journey. 
    • Avoid bringing any sharp objects such as needles, knives, scissors, cutters, syringes, etc., and if you are carrying them for any medical reason then take prior permission.
